Hey Friends. I hope everyone had a wonderful Halloween weekend. I spent the weekend at my first art show. Sales were so-so, but I expected that with the economy slump. It was still pretty good. I won second place at the show, so I was really pleased with that!
I had dental surgery today, so I'm gonna make it short. Blessings to everyone! xo
Not a lot to say tonite, just wanted to share. I'm gearing up for 3 weekends in a row full of art shows!

I also updated The Jellybean Tree etsy shop. I put some frames and cards in there, as well as a couple copies of my book, signed!
Okay, on to more important things, like this 8 week old baby of mine that is a chunka monka!!

Here is just one sneak peek of a project that is in there, called Under the Blue. It's a stained glass mosaic covered with resin.
I know I've said this before, but the process of writing and creating these books is a lot like giving birth. There is the initial anticipation and excitement, the emotional ups and downs, the questioning ( am I good enough?), the confidence when everything is going smoothly, the anxiety as it comes to the end, and then, of course, the total happiness when everything is over. I lost my Dad right before I finished this book, and then almost immediately found out I was pregnant with Jax. My focus on the book slightly hindered, and was slightly delayed. But as I sit here today looking through the finished product again, I am very proud and very relieved that it turned out so well. There are 20 mixed-media mosaic projects in this book, complete with all the how-to's. Very fun!

I cut a lot of glass pieces this week....enough to fill a 28" x 36" panel. This is is before grout.
This is during grout. Grouting on glass is sooooo much easier than tile.

I found out today that my new book is already on Amazon.com and available for pre-order right here! I received my final author review this week and I am so pleased with the results. I am really proud of this book. I believe that the cover shown is still being tweaked, but I had to share a glimpse with everyone. I will share more information as things progress. Release date has been set for September!
Also, I finally have my website up and running. I used a really wonderful graphic designer for a while, but I needed the ability to upload and change things daily if needed. I ended up designing the site myself using Homestead, and I was happy with the results. Will you tell me what you think? Honestly, of course, because I love feedback! (Just be nice...:)
Lastly, my etsy shop is being updated tomorrow night and I will have tons of new prints and a couple of new originals available. I signed up for a Main Showcase slot, so I'm hoping to meet some new customers.

This weekend we celebrated baby girl's 2nd birthday.
I can't believe my baby girl is already 2. With all the boys in the house, I am so glad to have one daughter. She is pure sunshine!

This was a custom mosaic I did around Christmas time for an old friend of the family that I met up with at one of my art shows. It has handmade clay pieces, stained glass and glass beads, and real sea shells.
It's amazing to me how my to-do list never ends. I will say I have made great strides in my New Years Resolution to simplify and not proscrastinate, but there is still the daily and weekly lists. However, life is good. Life is great! My kids are healthy and happy, and every day I manage to scratch at least one task off my list.
And speaking of kids, I don't normally show pictures, but I couldn't resist with my two youngest today. It was the first time in over a year I could manage to get the two of them in the same shot!

My Artygator has been getting some press lately. On Wednesday there was a small article and photo in The Orlando Sentinel, and today we did a photo shoot with the newly crowned Miss Orlando, Miss Winter Park, and the new Miss Teen's for Central Florida. (I'm the one in the back without the crown, LOL). These girls were very sweet and we were lucky to get some shots in before we were blessed with some much needed rain. Hope everyone is having a nice weekend!
