Merry Christmas

(A favorite tradition started by my Dad when I was younger.  It is still going strong, along with Elf and Alvin and the Chipmunks Christmas special!)

The blogging world is full of beautiful shots of Christmas trees, homemade gifts, yummy treats like gingerbread houses and homemade peppermint bark.  I did not get the chance to make one Christmas craft with my family this year, because I was so busy filling orders.  But, I learned a lesson on taking on too much, and I. am. finally. done!

Now I can relax with my family and enjoy the food and festivities.  We have the wonderful opportunity to take the kids to Disney for Christmas this year, thanks to a kind and generous friend of my father's who wanted us to have a special time this year.  We are so blessed and I hope everyone is feeling the warm fuzzy's!  Merry Christmas to everyone!

One month

Admidst furiously packing for all 6 of us to drive to North Carolina, I realized tonite that it has been a month today that we lost my Dad.

I push it aside a lot of days.  Stay busy with the kids, working, writing my manuscript.  Tonite it hit me like a ton of bricks, and I miss the solidness of him.  I want a hug.  I want him to see the kids growing.  I want advice on my new work endeavors.  I want to spend Thanksgiving together.

We've decided to go up to North Carolina for a family vacation.  A much needed one, at that.  I am grateful we can do that.  I am grateful that we will all be together, enjoying the mountains and friends and family that we will visit.

I am grateful, but I am also sad.  I miss my Dad.

I will be away for a week enjoying my family.  I wish everyone a Happy, Healthy, and Safe Holiday.  Happy Thanksgivng!
